Location and Outskirts

The location of Hotel Speraesole can truly be defined a happy one: Murta Maria, a small hamlet of Olbia, is in fact both at a minute’s walk from some of Gallura’s and Sardinia’s most beautiful beaches, but only a few Kms from both Olbia itself, the major town of the area and rich of shops, clubs and cultural events, but also an international waypoint for both arrivals and departures thanks to Porto Isola Bianca and Olbia - Costa Smeralda’s airport, as it is from beautiful beaches like Marina Maria, Porto Istana, Li Cuncheddi, Capo Ceraso.

The other small town is Porto San Paolo, a gorgeous village just 5 Kms south. The closest beaches are Marina Maria - the surfers’ favourite - only 900 meters from Hotel Speraesole, close to a precious humid area, and Porto Istana, distant 2 Kms, with the spectacular Isle of Tavolara: world’s smallest kingdom.

Not deserving less respect are Capo Ceraso and the magical beach of Li Cuncheddi at only 3 Kms’ distance, surrounded with smooth hills covered in Mediterranean vegetation, an inviting hiking route for brave lovers of nature. Even bird watching enthusiast will not be disappointed: within a 15 Km radius, in fact, are three humid areas. The first, real close, close to Marina Maria beach.

A bit further, near Costa Smeralda’s airport, is the lagoon area of Olbia, itself another destination of increasingly more migrant bird species that have chosen our comfortable lagoon to winter. It’s only 15 Kms that divide Hotel Speraesole from the lovely pound close to La Cinta, San Teodoro’s most renown beach: two of nature’s masterpieces in just one shot!

Porto Taverna Cala Barandichi Lu Impostu

Located near San Teodoro’s is the protected sea area of Tavolara, a small archipelago of great natural relevance. Kilometers of beaches face the suggestive Isle of Tavolara: from Porto Istana to La Cinta, ranging from Cala Girgolu, Porto Taverna, Cala Brandinchi, Puntaldia and many others located in only a 15 Km radius.

Hiking enthusiasts will be surprised in front of suggestive itineraries suspended between sea and mountain. do not lack cultural itineraries: Olbia, at only 10 Kms, offers a recently inaugurated archeological museum that faces the sea directly, after a suggestive seaside, a delightful walk under the palms where the streets of the cross.

The churches of San Simplicio and San Paolo in Olbia’s downtown, are maybe the most renoun monuments of the city, but the vast opencast archeological property all around the city of Olbia cannot go unmentioned, from the Holy Well of Sa Testa to the Roman Aqueduct, the punic city walls that protected the old town centre, to the structure of Cabu Abbas in the Castle of Pedres.
